I’m Josh Evans, but you know me best as The Movement Coach. I’m here to help you break away from ineffective workouts and fad diets, teaching you proper techniques in the gym and in the kitchen, that get you the results you desire. Since 2009, I have helped thousands of people, from college athletes to busy executives, crush their goals and transform their lives for the better. There is one similar trait between all of them: consistency. The ability to be consistent with your workouts and with your dietary behaviors. Everyone progresses at their own pace so don;t feel behind. There is no better time to start than now. Before we get going, let’s define my holistic approach to a healthy lifestyle.

What Is My Holistic Approach To Fitness And Nutrition?

Here is my thought process.

The mere medical definition of holistic means the comprehension of the parts of the body as intimately interconnected, taking into account mental and social factors, and only be reference to the whole.

In my experience, the best approach to a well balanced healthy lifestyle, is one focused on how the body performs together efficiently. Different systems in the body play various integral roles, all working in synchrony at every moment in time. From the nervous system and digestive system, to your muscles and bones, every aspect has evolved for optimal survival over hundreds of thousands of years.

As such, we need to focus on clearly defining the roles each system plays in our lives and refine our skills accordingly, in order to maximize our potential for long term success and well being. That is no easy task. You will have to be up for the challenge.

In other words, making long lasting change takes time. A LOT of time.

You need to be invested for the long haul. Nothing positive in life happens overnight and regaining your health is no different. You will struggle at times. You will face many barriers that you will need to overcome. That’s what makes this journey so special. The growth that comes at the end of adversity is powerful and sustainable.

You are not alone on this journey. I am here to help guide you, giving assistance when needed. We are here to help you accomplish your goals so you can start living your best life.

When I started my fitness journey, I was an overweight and unconfident young man, with little positive outlook on my future. Move 10 years into the future, I am strong and lean, motivated and feeling better than ever. I wake up every day with a sense of purpose to life, and I want that for you too!

What My Holistic Approach Is Not...

Let’s talk about what you won’t find with my approach to fitness in nutrition before going any further.

  1. Creating positive behaviors in your training and your diet is NOT easy and takes A LOT of work. Nothing worth having is easy to obtain. Losing weight and getting healthy are no different. Many online trainers will try to convince you otherwise, for the sole purpose of cashing in on your false hopes. I’m here to keep it real with you: losing weight is hard. I’ll do my best to provide you with the best possible approach to succeed, but you will need to put in the work...all of it, every day.

  2. Losing weight, gaining strength, and creating proper dietary habits does NOT happen overnight. I don’t believe in quick fixes when it comes to long term positive change in life. My experience working over the past 10 years in the fitness industry has taught me that everything takes longer than expected. There will always be setbacks. But I’ve helped thousands of people overcome these setbacks, and solidify the healthy habits that help them accomplish their goals. I can help you too!

  3. Creating healthy habits and getting in shape is NOT impossible. When I was younger, I never thought I would be able to look and feel as good as I do now. I was down in the dumps and didn’t see much hope for myself. Then one day I decided enough was enough, and the only way to succeed was to focus on the process, not the outcome. And I was right! I was able to decrease the anxiety surrounding my health, all while making real changes to the way I looked and felt about myself. I started to see the strong and confident individual I knew I could become. This feeling is entirely possible for you too! All it takes is a good plan, some consistency, and a little hard work.

The Three Paths You Can Take in Life

Now that you have a better understanding of what it really takes to be healthy, you have three options:

  1. Do nothing. As Albert Einstein said, “If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you’ve always got.” When you repeat the same process that helped you get where you are in the first place, nothing will change for the better. I know I don’t want to stay the same and I’m sure you don’t want that either, or you wouldn’t be reading this right now. This option isn’t for people looking to make sustainable positive change in their lives.

  2. You could keep searching for the next miracle problem fixing program. Search the internet for 5 minutes and you’ll find thousands of resources on how to get in shape and start eating right. But why spend all that time and energy scrolling through pages of information? Everything you need to get started down this path of long lasting change is organized for you here!

  3. You can take action now. You can take control of your own health. All it takes is the right plan and a lot of hard work. Set proper goals and begin the process of bettering yourself once and for all. There is no better way to set yourself up for success than to write clear and concise goals. Laying out your goals in a way that makes them simple to follow and easy to assess, is an important piece to achieving success. Learn How to Get Started.

While many systems claim to have state of the art equipment and software, which enhance your ability to make progress...yada yada yada. That won’t be the case here. I follow the old rule of K.I.S.

Essential #1: Equipment Checklist

No matter where you go, I want you to have the ability to use my services for your betterment. In order to do so, it is important to have the necessary equipment for your workouts.

While you can still accomplish the weekly workouts found in The Movement Club without equipment (some modification required), you won’t receive the full benefits of the workouts without the proper training tools.

While bodyweight only programs are great due to the accessibility they provide, you still lose out on the benefits of training with external load. Luckily for you, the tools you need for my weekly workouts are easily transportable and are just as easy to use.
